Effective September 30, 2010, MTNA no longer offers the MTNA Marketplace to its members. Over the past couple of years, MTNA has been reviewing all of its programs and services in light of the economy and their importance to the members. It is important that MTNA operate efficiently and effectively in the areas most essential to our members.
The MTNA Marketplace was reviewed in that light. The decision to eliminate it was based on two basic reasons. One, Marketplace is utilized by very few members, but it is a very time-intensive activity for MTNA. Secondly, and more importantly, many of the Marketplace items, especially publications, can and should be available to all MTNA members free of charge via digital means.
The plan is to focus our time and energies on providing those Marketplace products, which are in a digital format, free of charge to our members. We believe that, in doing so, MTNA will be even more valuable to the music teaching profession.
These products will be offered on the MTNA website as they become available.
